Public Relations, Fundraising and Sponsorship

This course is a three part module-based course that will provide students with a comprehensive overview of three important sectors of the event industry - public relations, fundraising, and sponsorship. Each of the three sectors will be delivered in their own five-week module that culminates with either a module test or a major assignment as the core evaluation methods of the course. In each module students have the opportunity to explore the key concepts, best practices and industry standards surrounding each of the respective sector topics. Students will have the opportunity to speak with industry professionals as guest speakers in the classroom, explore relevant and timely readings from industry sources, apply their learning through assignments including the creation of a sponsorship package and event communication materials.
