This course broadens students' understanding of the many influences on health and explores health promotion and marketing strategies with a focus on nutrition. Students gain practical knowledge required to effectively promote and communicate nutrition and health messages at the individual, group, community, organization and population levels. This course also outlines health promoting marketing and merchandising strategies from a retail food and food service perspective. Students become familiar with tools used in marketing and develop solutions for modifying operations and menus to meet established targets.
