Fundamentals of Nutrition

"The beginning is the most important part of the work" (Plato). In this course, students examine the fundamentals of nutrition by investigating the six classes of nutrients: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, minerals and water. Students examine current Canadian guidelines and recommendations and also learn to recognize and decipher credible sources of nutrition information.
