This course is designed to teach the practical skills necessary for outdoor recreation pursuits in various environments. Students participate in skill and leadership-based activities in the outdoors while also acquiring the knowledge of required equipment, selection of venues and risk reduction processes. Four one-day excursions provide an opportunity to apply existing and newly acquired skills in an outdoor setting. Students gain knowledge in planning and leading activities for groups consisting of various abilities in outdoor settings.
