The fine art of cake decorating level 1 provides the foundation for the art of cake decorating. Students will learn the basics of making a sponge cake, cupcake, birthday cake and anniversary cake. Emphasis on piping and masking by using various icings, including butter cream and royal icing. Through practical application and hands-on practice students will develop skills to create marzipan flowers, decorative borders and roses, as well as to fill, cover and decorate these special occasion cakes with exquisite flavors.
