The School of HRT is the "heart" of action, adventure and hot, hot stuff! We deliver sport, fitness, recreation, nutrition, tourism, event, hospitality, baking and culinary programs with industry experts in leading edge facilities. Uniterra, an organization associated with the WUSC (World University Service of Canada) and the CECI (International Centre for Studies and Cooperation), created a program where volunteers, including teachers, students and everyday individuals can apply to travel to a country in need and share their skills and with the community. Two faculty members from the School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism are taking part in the program this summer.

Congratulations to Baking & Pastry Arts Management student Ruby Nguyen, who placed fourth overall at the Skill Canada Competitions. Ruby represented Humber and the province of Ontario in Moncton, New Brunswick. Well done, Ruby!

Saad Rafi, former CEO of the 2015 Pan Am Games received an Honourary Degree and addressed the graduates. Mara Visan, graduate of the Tourism Management - Travel Industry Services program received the President's Medal. Kathryn Gee, graduate of the Hospitality Management - Hotel & Restaurant program received the Board of Governors Award.
