Part of the Fitness and Health Promotion diploma program requires students to complete an industry internship in their 4th and final semester of the program.
The internship provides practical experiences for students to apply learning in the classroom to a work environment in the fitness industry.
To support students in search of internship and employment opportunities, a career fair is organized annually, exclusively for students enrolled in programs within The School of HRT.
The Fall Fitness Career Fair took place on October 26, 2016, in the Learning Resource Commons Concourse. The event was well-attended and provided an opportunity for students seeking internships and employment to connect with industry employers.
Employers in attendance included: Bloor Street Fitness and Boxing, Cardio-Go, City of Brampton, City of Toronto, City of Vaughan, GoodLife Fitness, Health Systems Group, Motion Ball Sports, Soccer Fitness Inc., Sportball, The Boulevard Club, Think Fitness Studios, Toronto Lawn Tennis Club, Town of Oakville, Tri Fit, Weight2Lose Clinics, and the YMCA. The event was a great success and resulted in offers for internship placements and gave current students the opportunity to connect with program alumni.
Special thanks to Jamie Even for organizing a fabulous Fitness & Health Promotion career fair!
