Garo received his Diploma of Massage Therapy at Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic and has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2004.
Upon registration Garo began his practice by joining the professional team at Maple Health Care & Rehab, where he helped to build a busy massage therapy practice. This setting allowed him to develop his assessment and treatment skills in the field of orthopedics. His experience working alongside a variety of health care professionals have helped him appreciate the extraordinary benefits for both the patient and health care provider when an integrated, team approach to health care is utilized.
His interest in helping advance the profession of massage therapy led him to accepting a teaching position at Sutherland-Chan in 2007. His teaching is focused on the assessment and massage therapy management of orthopedic conditions, clinical anatomy, and clinical instruction. Garo has also served as an examiner for the Credential & Prior Learning Assessment for out of jurisdiction massage therapists wishing to become registered therapists in Ontario.
His future professional aspirations include furthering his education in health sciences and becoming involved in massage therapy research.
