Professor and Program Coordinator – NKUHT Program
Michelle is a Certified Sommelier, holds the Diploma of Wine from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), is the President of the National Board for the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers/ Association Canadienne des Sommeliers Professionnels (CAPS) and a WSET Certified Wine Educator. She also holds a Masters in Leadership Studies from the University of Guelph and is a Certified Human Resources Professional. Michelle is committed to education and training of students and staff within the Hospitality industry and honed her skill at program development and delivery while Chair, Continuing Education Hospitality & Tourism, at another College for six years. She has had the privilege of teaching, as an exchange faculty member, at the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality & Tourism (NKUHT) in Taiwan and is a strong believer in the benefit international learning opportunities provide to students.
In addition to teaching at Humber, Michelle teaches at other Colleges, as well as in the CAPS Sommelier Certification Program, Wine and Spirit Education Trust Programs, and conducts private and corporate seminars. Michelle is a member of CAPS, Associate Member of the Institute of Wine, International Coach Federation, the Human Resources Professionals Association, Guild of Sommeliers and the Women's Culinary Network She is also Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation and has an active executive, team and leadership practice.
