Tina Horsley is a Registered Dietitian and holds a Master of Health Sciences in Community Nutrition and Public Health. She believes good food has the power to make people, communities and the planet healthy. Having worked in food for most of her career, Tina is a self-proclaimed foodie with 20 years’ experience in the field. In her previous role as Director of Wellness & Sustainability for Aramark Canada, she was a founding member of the Corporate Social Responsibility Practices Committee and helped develop the organization’s Sustainability, Environmental Stewardship and Health & Wellness Platforms which have contributed to the organization’s recognition as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers, and for their comprehensive approach to wellness.
Throughout her various roles within the nutrition, food and foodservice sector, which also include District Manager and Nutrition and Marketing Manager, Tina has worked on various projects supporting improved business outcomes, staff development and training, educational and research projects, nutrition, health promotion, sustainable food sourcing, and environmental programs within a variety of settings including schools, universities, business sites, acute and long term care and community settings. She continues to consult on Sustainability and Wellness projects within this sector and has a passion for integrating culinary arts, nutrition, and sustainability wherever she can! Tina is also member of the Organic Value Chain Round Table through Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, and is actively involved with many organizations and projects focused on health, sustainability and food security.
Tina is very excited to be part of the School of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism and the Humber team. She is a believer in lifelong learning, and is thoroughly enjoying teaching and working with the new generation of food and nutrition professionals.
