Student Personal Training

The student personal training program is a component of the educational preparation for students enrolled in the Fitness diploma program. Students provide personal training to members of the Humber community.


Personal Training Program and Participation Requirements

This program is open to Humber students, faculty and staff, as well as industry partners and takes place in the Humber College Fitness Centre (North Campus).

If you are interested in participating, please be sure to register early as the program fills up quickly due to limited Student Personal Trainers available.

Fitness and Health Promotion Student Trainer:

Register Now for a Fitness Student Trainer!   

  • Must be able to commit to the program from May to August 2018;
  • A health screening and goal setting session; 
  • Initial and final fitness assessment; 
  • Development of a workout program specifically for you; 
  • Two weekly student personal training sessions for one hour each

Personal Training Options 2017 - 2018

Option #1

Fitness and Health Promotion
(diploma students)

  • Start dates are mid-September for fall, mid-January for winter and mid-May for summer.
  • Duration of program is 14 weeks, which includes 1 initial consultation, 1 initial fitness assessment, 20 personal training sessions (2 per week), 1 final assessment and 1 final consultation and interpretation of results.
Option #2

Exercise and Lifestyle Management
(postgraduate certificate students)

  • Start date is the week after Thanksgiving. End date is the end of April.
  • October to December (1 initial consultation, 1 initial fitness assessment, 6-1hr training session (1 per week)).
  • January to April (health screening and goals, customized initial fitness assessment, 16-1hr personal training sessions (2 per week), customized final fitness assessment, final debrief).
Option #3

(3rd year undergraduate degree students)

  • Start date is mid-January. End date is the first week of April.
  • Duration of program is 11 weeks (health screening/goal setting session, initial fitness assessment, 8-1hr personal training session (1 per week), final fitness assessment and final debrief).
