The Humber Food Truck attends many events both on and off campus throughout the year including The Restaurants Canada Show, The Humber Food Truck Festival, and the Cardiac Health Foundation Walk for Life. Read about these events and more below.
“It’s really important to us to support community events, especially with partners such as The Cardiac Health Foundation,” says Associate Dean, Kristan Lingard. “We were thrilled to be able to give back to this wonderful organization that provides scholarships and internship opportunities to our students in Fitness, Exercise Science and Kinesiology programs,” she adds.
Our first annual Humber Food Truck Festival was a resounding success, with 2,000 students and faculty making their way over the LRC parking lot (lot 7) and enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes from eight different food trucks. $1 from the sale of every meal was donated to the Humber Gives campaign, which provides awards and scholarships to students in need.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the turnout we had at our first Humber Food Truck Festival,” says Rudi Fischbacher, Associate Dean, School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism. “We had a great crowd and all of the trucks came together to provide fantastic meal options for the Humber community,” he adds.
