Over 50 students from the Hospitality - Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management and Hospitality & Tourism Operations Management programs attended last week’s Hospitality Industry Networking Event to connect with a room full of established industry professionals.

The School of HRT had the pleasure of hosting:

  • Tony Elenis, President & CEO, Ontario Restaurant Hotel & Motel Association (ORHMA)
  • Denise Ethier, Director of Sales & Marketing, Novotel Toronto Centre
  • Jesse Melbye, GM, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse
  • Hani Roustom, GM, The Hazleton Hotel
  • Murray Kelsey, GM, Marriott Hotel Toronto Airport
  • Peter George, Director of Food & Beverage, CN Tower
  • Steve Martin, Training Manager, Goway Travel

Students had the opportunity to speak with hospitality industry professionals in a speed networking setting, which included rotating between tables every 10 minutes. This gave students a great opportunity to connect with industry leaders one-on-one to ask individual questions and make lasting professional connections.

Raffle prizes were also given away, one of them being a $100 Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse gift card that was graciously donated by Jesse Melbye.

Thank you to all of the industry leaders who joined us for this important networking event. You are always welcome back to Humber!
