April 24, 2018
On Thursday, April 12, 2018, third year Massage Therapy students displayed and presented their single case research or retrospective case studies.
Massage Therapy students dove deep into their chosen topics by conducting extensive research over the course of three semesters. Research topics ranged from the effects massage therapy has on carpal tunnel syndrome severity and functionality to patients with low back pain.
Guests attending Massage Therapy Research Night were surrounded by various research displays along with oral presentations conducted by the students who collected the material. Jennifer Colangelo and Caitlin Jerome gave opening and closing remarks and Amanda Baskwill, Associate Dean of the School of Health Sciences, spoke about the importance of research in the massage therapy profession.
Thank you to Angela Parsons, Massage Therapy faculty, for supporting these students all semester and for organizing a successful event. Congratulations to our Massage Therapy students for collecting and presenting their findings to their fellow peers, guests and family members!
