Leila has a Ph.D. in Biomechanics from the University of Western Ontario. Her Ph.D. research focused on functional fitness testing. She is also interested in occupational injury of repetitive tasks and mechanisms of injury and is currently investigating injuries in professional Massage Therapists. Leila and her HRT colleague Sherri Branscombe are part of an initiative to assist remote Inuit communities in developing their recreation planning. Leila comes from a background as a professional musician and has a Master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, and a B.Mus. from the University of Adelaide.
