PRIME MINISTER JUSTIN TRUDEAU VISITS HUMBER COLLEGE

October 31, 2018

We only have one planet, so it’s crucial that we treat it with care. On Tuesday, October 23rd, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited the Humber North campus to discuss climate change and sustainability with our students, and meet someone special who will be representing Canada in a big way this coming summer.

Trudeau was presented with a bag of goodies all made here at Humber. This gift included honey made by the honey bees here at North Campus, maple syrup from trees in the Humber Arboretum, and chocolates made 100% from scratch by Stefanie Francavilla, a recent graduate from our Baking and Pastry Arts program. Stefanie even got the chance to meet Prime Minister Trudeau! Back in June, Stefanie competed in the annual 2018 Skills Canada Competition and proudly took home gold in baking.

This win was a huge accomplishment for Stefanie, and because of her hard work, she pre-qualifies to compete in the 45th WorldSkills Competition taking place in Russia in August 2019.

Thank you, Prime Minister Trudeau for your support and taking time out of your busy schedule to visit us!
