Q. Why did you choose Humber College?
A. Humber College felt like the right choice given that it was close to home as well as being known for helping most graduates get a job straight out of school.
Q. What are 5 skills Humber taught you that are necessary to be a top performer in this job?
A. Time Management, Sales, Marketing, Strategic Planning and Customer Service!
Q. How was your major related to your current work?
A. I’m currently in the world of experiential marketing but most of the courses I took at Humber while completing my major were a huge asset in this field as well. Courses such as Marketing, Workplace Writing Skills and Business Practices are universal.
Q. Which class did you find most beneficial?
A. World Destinations hands down! Digging deeper into each destination in class made me realize that this was the right program for me.
Q. How did Humber prepare you for the work world?
A. My professors were so blunt about what to expect coming out of school and what they said was very accurate. They didn’t sugar coat a single thing and that mentally prepared me for the work world. Straight and honest answers to all my questions really helped me succeed after graduating.
Q. What was the biggest obstacle you faced during your time as a student?
A. Not enough time! My years at Humber flew by so fast that my biggest obstacle was trying to make them last as long as possible.
Q. What do you enjoy about your career?
A. The people I work with! Everyone at work is incredible and it’s because we all come from different walks of life. Different fields of study, different goals, different hobbies and personalities but the one thing we all share in common is that we love to make people smile!
Q. What accomplishment are you most proud of since graduating?
A. Getting a job in my field was a huge accomplishment of mine. Being able to immediately secure a position in the Travel Industry was a goal I had all throughout school.
Q. Would you recommend Humber to future students?
Q. What does your role as a Brand Ambassador entail?
A. A Brand Ambassador is often known as the face of a company or product/service. The role can range from being in a Boodles Gin commercial to private events at Google’s head office. Every day is something new and that’s the beauty of it!
Q. What does a typical day at work look like for you?
A. The craziest thing about what I do now, is that there is no typical day! Every time I go to work I expect the unexpected!
Q. How did your experience at Humber help you find employment after graduation?
A. Right before I graduated I started applying for positions in my field and surely enough I secured one before I even received my diploma! The 7-week internship that I completed prior to graduating was definitely a key factor in the minds of employers when deciding to hire me.
