Program/Graduating Year: Travel & Tourism Management, 2012
Role: Day to day duties include; product development, one-on-one coaching and training of sales team, handling customer issues, and creating personalize safaris for clients. Focus is on safaris in East Africa such as Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Madagascar.
The best part of the job: “I get to travel to the destinations that I sell. I love safaris more than anything, and to be able to go to Africa for work is a big bonus! A trip to Africa is often a "trip of a lifetime" and to be able to guide my clients and craft a safari that suits them, whether it is a luxury tour or something more economical, is pretty rewarding. The most satisfying part is hearing my client's life-changing experience when they get back.
How Humber helped: “My internship was with Kensington Tours where I started as an intern in marketing. Then they hired me as a marketing coordinator. After a year and a half, I decided marketing wasn’t the right fit for me, so I moved into sales and became a junior consultant, then became a senior consultant. I still use all the skills that I learned from the different classes at Humber like tour costing, marketing and accounting.”
