Health and wellness awareness is key to living a healthy life and preventing disease before it occurs. Workplace wellness is important because a lot of employees spend the majority of their time in the workplace, therefore having a program in place where employees can get active and work on their personal wellbeing is very beneficial.

On Wednesday, June 27th, Holiday Inn held their 1st annual employee wellness day to help promote health and wellness to their employees. Several of Humber’s Fitness and Health Promotion alumni put together an informative booth and ran various fitness classes such as kickboxing, boot camp and cardio for employees to get active and learn more about personal fitness and nutrition. A lot of chronic illnesses can be prevented by educating people on the importance of health and wellness. Preventing these illnesses before it occurs is key to leading a healthy life.

Thank you, Nikita, Oscar, Dixon, Olivia, and Rebecca for doing such a great job running the booth and fitness classes. The manager at Holiday Inn was impressed with all of your hard work and would love to have you all back to do more corporate health events for them.
