As students come to the end of their post-secondary career, new and exciting opportunities will begin to present itself. Our graduating students in the hospitality, culinary and baking sectors had an exciting opportunity recently presented to them. On February 5th, the Talent Acquisition Manager and Head of Learning and Development for the Dorchester Collection visited Humber College to discuss employment opportunities in the United Kingdom with our graduates. This opportunity could place our students at The Dorchester or 45 Park Lane – both Luxury Hotel properties a part of the Dorchester Collection.

This is a paid position with a two-year commitment and the chance to rotate between departments every six months or so, giving those working in baking a chance to work in culinary and vice versa. The 45 Park Lane property is a five-star hotel with a dedicated pastry department – making this location coveted amongst the pastry chefs. Selected students would receive the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa which would provide a two-year work permit in order to work at their hotel. Eligible students must possess a Canadian passport and be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old.

The Dorchester is aiming to build a partnership with schools in Canada to develop a regular program for recruiting students. We hope to see one of our students selected for this outstanding career building opportunity and anticipate future opportunities such as this as well.
