This earth is the only one we have, so it’s important we are aware of the effect our daily actions have on the planet and try to minimize our ecological footprint. The third-semester Event Management students and the Office of Sustainability held an event called Sustainability: Due Tomorrow in the Center for Urban Ecology. The purpose of the event was to raise and spread awareness of tiny adjustments that can reduce the impact we have on the environment.

This event was open to faculty and staff members and consisted of several interactive booths and activities for them to participate in. Staff members had the opportunity to speak with members from the Sustainability Office on ways they can incorporate sustainability into their courses and bring awareness to their students. They also had the chance to determine their ecological footprint, create and plant their own bamboo plant to take home, and get up close and personal with the chickadees as they eat seeds from their hands.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and learn about sustainability!
