Ron Caughlin

Ron graduated from the University of Toronto in 1987 with a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree and also pursued graduate studies in 1989 in Communications at the University of Calgary. Ron has over 20 years of marketing and communications experience in both agency and client side of the business. His area of expertise includes marketing, brand strategy, digital, public relations, sport marketing and social media. 

Ron honed his marketing and advertising career for some of Canada’s top agencies as an Account Director at BBDO, and Vice President of Client Services at Cossette and as Managing Director for CIM – LAUNCH, Ron had the opportunity to lead some very notable clients including the McDonalds national campaign and the NHL Hockey Card program. While working on the Bell business, Ron developed the many sport marketing programs including the Bell sponsorship for the Air Canada Centre, The Bell Canadian Open and Nagano Olympic sponsorship strategy. While at LAUNCH, Ron had the opportunity to develop and lead the Microsoft Xbox launch and national experiential marketing tour. Most recently Ron created the B2B inbound marketing, PR and digital social media program for TNS Canada as Vice President, Marketing and Business Development. In addition, while at TNS Ron was the practice lead for Travel Tourism and Digital Sectors and led the Digital Life and Mobile Life studies globally. Ron provided strategic leadership with the Travel Tourism clients business including Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corp (OTMPC), Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), Tourism Toronto, Atlantic Travel Tourism Commission (ATTC), Niagara Tourism Partnership and RTO12 – Explores Edge.

On the client side Ron created memorable consumer marketing and communications programs at International Dairy Queen as Vice President of Marketing, as well as created the Timbits sports and community program for The TDL Group Corp (Tim Hortons) as Director, Regional Marketing. Ron also built the marketing program for Toronto Pearson GTAA as Vice President, Marketing (acting) and launched the digital marketing partnership and program with Air Canada, Tourism Toronto and the OTMPC . He led all major new business to attract a significant amount of new airlines to Toronto Pearson International Airport including Emirates, Etihad, LANS Chile, Iceland Air etc. Ron also developed the award winning “There’s no place like this” campaign and social media portal while on contract as Director Brand & North America Marketing for Ontario Tourism Partnership Corp (OTMPC).

Ron volunteers as a rep coach and VP Communications for the Oakville Thunder Volleyball club and in the past was the VP Rep for the Oakville Angels Softball club and led the 2009 Canadian National Fast Pitch Championships as Chair.
