On Thursday, September 20th, the Humber Room was filled with triumph as the GTHA/Humber Hotel Management Leadership Program students celebrated their graduation. The 14-week program was designed for middle management employees working in the hospitality field, who are motivated and eager to expand their careers and take on higher leadership positions in the industry. The program ran from January 20th to May 12th, and each student was required to complete 7 modules and a capstone project in order to obtain their certificate.

The evening began with hors d’oeuvres, prepared by our chefs and served by our hospitality students. We then heard from the Acting Dean of Humber’s School of Hospitality Recreation and Tourism, Rudi Fischbacher, followed by the Chair of the Greater Toronto Hotel Association, Bonnie Strome. Rudi had the pleasure of announcing that the GTHA will be providing additional funding for the Hotel Management Leadership Program to continue for another 3 years. This is an astounding opportunity for additional middle management employees to acquire the necessary credentials to procure a senior leadership position in the industry.

Thank you, Kristy Adams, Michele Harris, Robert Carter, Janet Latremouille, Jo-Anne Hill, Ron Caughlin, Ramesh Srinivasan, Wendy Burgess and Donna D’Andrea for your constant support and dedication to their students and this program. This could not have been done without you.

Congratulations to all GTHA/Humber Management Leadership Program graduates, and thank you for a wonderful semester. May you continue to learn, and grow in your journey and tackle every challenge with grace.
